These garlic butter shrimp are simply delicious, and, as an added benefit, they are both easy and fast to cook. Serve them for a meatless dinner and don't forget them during the Lenten season.

The garlic, parsley and butter combo makes them succulent, satisfying, and scrumptious. If you prefer spicier food, add a little bit of crushed red pepper.

Garlic Butter Shrimp
Prep time: 5 minutes
Start to finish: 15 minutes
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 6 garlic cloves, peeled and finely chopped
- 1 lb raw medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 6 fresh Italian parsley sprigs, finely chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lemon juice to taste (optional)
- Lemon wedges on the side (optional)
Melt butter in a hot pan. Lower temperature to medium high, add garlic and cook for 30-40 seconds stirring constantly until lightly golden.
Add shrimp and cook until pink, the time depends on the size of the shrimp and how many are in the pan. Try to avoid having too many in the pan. You don't want to steam them. Be sure to cook both sides.

Mix in parsley, salt and pepper to taste and continuing stirring for a few seconds.
Sprinkle on some lemon juice if desired.
