All our favorite spring and summer celebrations, from Cinco de Mayo to Mother's Day, Memorial Day to Father's Day and 4th of July are all perfect occasions to rock this mocktail.
Like you, we want our celebrations to feel extravagant, without actually being extravagant, and we want them to be a breeze.
The trick here is the perfect combination of ingredients, bringing extra flavor, depth, and complexity to our “sangria,” while staying budget-friendly and appropriate for kids and adults alike.
Isn't it wonderful that all you foodies out there can experience unique global flavors like this in the comfort of your home?
I'm guessing you like trying new cuisines and exploring a wider culinary world. One thing I want to point out, in case you're not familiar with sangria. This mocktail is inspired by the sangrias of Spain, which feature a blend of fruit and red wine. So how do we capture that flavor profile?
About the Juices
Since this is a mocktail and not a cocktail, I've replaced the traditional sangria wine with a fruit juice blend. The beauty of this Naked Pomegranate-Blueberry blend is it provides the rich color and tannin-like complexity you expect in sangria, but without the alcohol. Plus, it's just tasty and has no added sugar!
Florida's Natural 100% Premium Florida Orange Juice gives this mocktail that classic, fragrant, orange pop of natural sweetness and acidity you love and expect in a sangria.
Look for them both in the refrigerated aisle of your market, where you can find lots of healthy options that are full of flavor and delicious indulgences for your celebrations.
About the Fruit
Fruit is an important part of any sangría. Orange and lemon slices give the sangría brightness and balance the sweetness. Crunchy apples give it texture.
Of course, we can't forget the blueberries which add another layer of fragrant sweetness and depth of body to this special beverage.
I love frozen blueberries because they freeze them at the peak of freshness from the moment they are harvested, and they allow me to enjoy fragrant blueberries any time of year. Just the thought of making this sangría any month of the year makes me smile.
